If you want to start monitors for the reliable judgement of colours, the colour rooms this monitor described, must be characterised first i.e. This can happen with Viewopen, a software solution for the production of ICC profiles. Viewopen provides for the fact that the Kozept WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) also applies to the colour representation. With ICC profiles you can count on the fact that colours on different monitors are shown consistent.
Monitor setting Contrast / brightness (calibration) with measuring instrument support
Viewopen generates on the monitor a known test pattern which is grasped by the measuring instrument. Then from the known pattern and the actual measuring results Viewopen calculates the ICC profile of this monitor.
